From Valberg, cycle routes are organised around two major, iconic valleys. The Cians Valley offers a spectacular road that winds through red gorges with very distinct rock formations, with a gradual climb towards the resort. The wider Var Valley allows you to connect the villages of the Nice hinterland and access smoother routes in the valley floor. These two axes structure all the cycling outings in the area, between a mineral atmosphere and forest landscapes.
Valberg is located in direct proximity to the Col de la Couillole, a major pass between the Cians and Tinée valleys. This steady ascent is one of the best-known routes in the area, with open views over the Mercantour ridges. The high-altitude roads around the resort allow for consecutive climbs without descending too far, in an accessible yet demanding high-mountain atmosphere. It is an ideal terrain for long outings and elevation training.
The Cians road is one of the most spectacular routes to Valberg, with a path carved into gorges featuring characteristic red walls. The ascent is gradual but steady, offering changing scenery at every bend on the way to the resort.
The Var valley offers more open routes, connecting the villages of the Nice hinterland. The roads are generally smooth but become more demanding as you approach the high-altitude areas around Valberg.
