The Rance valley is one of the most interesting areas for cycling around Dinan. The roads follow the course of the river between Dinan and Saint-Malo, with regular passages between estuary, small ports and coastal villages. The route offers a changing landscape to the rhythm of the water, with easy-going sections and viewpoints of the Rance's meanders. It is a particularly popular route for long, accessible rides, combining maritime heritage with a Breton atmosphere.
From Dinan, routes quickly open up in two complementary directions. To the north, roads lead to the Emerald Coast and towns like Saint-Malo or Dinard, with routes more exposed to maritime conditions. To the south and west, the Breton bocage offers calmer, rolling, and rural roads, ideal for longer outings away from the coast. This dual identity makes Dinan a very complete starting point for discovering the Côtes-d'Armor by bike.
