Mountain biking between cycle paths and forest tracks
Here's a pleasant mountain bike outing in the Landes forest, starting from the VTT Loisirs shop in Hossegor town centre. Suitable for all ages and ideal for families, it takes you from the Capbreton cycle paths into the shade of the superb pine forest along the dunes and the beach, and allows you to discover the little chapel of Saint Thérèse, built on the dunes in 1932.
Type of roads: 30 % of forest tracks and 70 % of tarmac cycle paths.
Beware of a few short sandy sections that may make you put your foot down. Overall, the route is smooth and the forest paths wide.

Nice track and single track near Soorts
A lovely forest course with magnificent wooded paths and fun singles towards Soorts. Some sand, but it goes almost everywhere... Tested and approved, in a sector where you have to know your way around to avoid getting stuck. It's still a demanding course with some nice bumps along the way.
From the VTT Loisirs shop in Zone Pédebert, take the road briefly to reach the forest tracks. And off you go for more than 12 km of trails, initially on forest tracks, in the middle of tall pine trees. The terrain quickly becomes fun. For a while, you'll dominate the artisanal zone, on singles at the top of the tucs, then you'll head south into the forest very close to Hossegor, where you'll skirt the lake, then head off in the direction of Seignosse Le Penon by the road, before returning along beautiful forest paths.
Distance: 15km

Through the woods between Seignosse, Hossegor and Capbreton
This route is a fine summary of the best that can be found between Seignosse and Capbreton, with paths, singles and, finally, a track for the return journey.
After leaving Lac d'Hossegor, take the road briefly and then the cycle track towards Vieux Boucau. On the track between Hossegor and Seignosse Le Penon, you'll come to a path on your right.
A number of climbs and a lot of sand add to the difficulty of this route. You'll still enjoy some nice singles overlooking the industrial estate before reaching the Intermarché car park. A short section of cycle path will give you a chance to catch your breath, and you'll pass close to the Barthes nature reserve, which is well worth a diversion if you haven't already done so... You'll continue to head gradually towards the Capbreton forest, where you'll discover some very pleasant little singles. You'll end up crossing the Labenne road to join the Vélodyssée cycle path, which is very popular in summer, and which will take you quietly back to the port of Capbreton and Hossegor lake.
